Hajime Sakurai, a Japanese illustrator and painter based in the city of Osaka, Japan. He started his career as an illustrator about 16 years ago, and in the last 6 years presented his painted works as an artist. Sakurai artwork has gained the attention of pop culture, his artwork has appeared in variety of media such as advertisements, posters, magazines and music records.

His catchy paintings and illustrations are inspired from the pop culture of the 20th century and are updated with a sophisticated sense of the present. He paints pop motifs with graphical composition and emotional expression.

He has been actively exhibiting original works at solo exhibitions and art fairs and has blasted his way through Japan, Asia, and Europe as a worldwide artist. His commissioned work is loved by a wide range of people and industries, including many collaborations with musicians, fashion brands, and lifestyle brands.

His “square" explorations and hip performances create something old and new.
